Celery Seed Vitality™

(Apium graveolens)

Produced from the steam distillation of dried seeds, Celery Seed Vitality™ brings a pleasant aroma and taste to pickling blends and brines. Celery Seed Vitality offers a flavor profile that is commonly described as earthy and grassy. It can add a unique depth of taste to coleslaw and salad dressings and can also be used for seasoning poultry.

How to use: For internal use.  To use as a dietary supplement, add to food, water or other beverages.  Can also place a few drops in a vegetable capsule and take internally to support overall wellness.

1. Add 1–2 drops of Celery Seed Vitality to a vegetarian gel capsule and take as a dietary supplement as needed.
2. Combine Celery Seed Vitality and Carrot Seed Vitality for an impactful flavor in your next vegetable or poultry-based soup.
3. Add 1–2 drops to the cooking water for rice and serve with baked poultry.
4. Make a delicious homemade Coleslaw!

• 1 package shredded coleslaw mix
• 1/2 cup lowfat mayonnaise
• 2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
• 2 Tbsp sugar
• 1/2 tsp onion powder
• 1/2 tsp garlic powder
• 1 drop Celery Seed Vitality essential oil

Mix mayonnaise, vinegar, sugar, spices and celery seed Vitality.  Add to coleslaw mix and toss to coat.  Add salt and pepper to taste.  For creamier coleslaw, double the dressing.

Rose essential oil

Rose essential oil is a precious oil that is one of the most recognizable scents in the world.  Rose oil is distilled to gently release the delicate flower’s oil through steam. Because each 5-ml bottle requires 22 pounds of rose petals, Rose oil is one of the most valuable (and expensive) essential oils you can acquire.  22 pounds of rose petals? Seriously??

Its sweet, rich aroma encourages feelings of positive self-reflection and can create an uplifted feeling when inhaled. Rose oil has also been used topically for thousands of years, and today it can be found in many skin care products, including Young Living’s Rose Ointment™.

1. Apply directly to skin to help moisturize and support the appearance of healthy, youthful-looking skin.
2. Well known for it’s aroma, Rose oil is a wonderful oil to use as a personal fragrance.  Try adding a drop or 2 to your wrists, neck or other pulse points.

Hope™ essential oil blend

This has been an especially troubling time for me and for our country.  This is the month of the tragic and deadly Las Vegas shooting perpetrated by a man who seemingly had no motive (as of the time of this post).  There are wildfires out of control in California destroying wine country.  There is a humanity disaster in Puerto Rico as they try to recover from Hurricane Maria.  Texas and Florida are also still trying to recover from Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.  There has been a severe drought in the Dakotas and severe weather all throughout the Midwest.  All in all, 2017 is on track to becoming one of the more deadly (and expensive!) years on record.  It is easy to see how one could lose hope in the presence of all these disasters.

Instead of giving in to despair and losing hope for what is to come, I reached for my bottle of Hope and thought this was the perfect time to revisit this particular blend.

Animal Scents® Collection

Last week I talked in general terms about using essential oils with animals and what precautions you need to take.  This week I wanted to take a closer look at the options that Young Living has to offer.  Not only does Young Living offer me non-toxic solutions for me and my beloved pet, I also love being a part of a company that gives back:
